1940's Milner 'Cello' Guitar - Restoration

1940's Milner 'Cello' Acoustic Guitar 👀

Imagine walking into a charity shop and buying this for £5?! That's exactly what my client did. I've had the pleasure of some light restoration work on what is without a doubt the oldest guitar I've ever worked on. Surprisingly, the neck didn't need a reset and the frets, although under 80 years of grime, just needed dressing.

The celluloid binding had come loose from the body and needed reattaching, this had caused the bridge to not sit flush, I've dowelled and filled the cracks/holes before colour matching and buffing out the finish (very carefully) a very vintage fretbuzz service + setup using @rotosound_uk 'Superia' strings.

There isn't too much info out there on Milner guitars, but it was great to discover that they were sold locally in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The shop dates back to 1911!
