This fantastic early 60's Framus that lived throughout the 60's and 70's on RAF bases came to the Fretbuzz Workshed for some light restoration along with a custom pickguard which Mrs Fretbuzz cut in-house. After scouring Framus archives we were able to faithfully recreate the original.
I also had to make up a new jack lead as this has a female 3-pin din socket attached to the control plate. The original was a male 3-pin din to female 1/4 jack output, then you simply attach that and put your standard jack lead in, really not sure why they did this, but as it was built in Bavaria, they must have been quite common, unfortunately the originals are non existent, so was easier to make a new one.
All the steel and brass hardware has been polished out before a lengthy fretboard condition and fret polish. Set up with Rotosound 9-42". Eventually this guitar will benefit from a neck reset for better playability, although I'm not sure if it has always been like this as there's not many signs of it moving around throughout the years.
