The big one! This 1978 Fender Stratocaster had a full strip-back to the natural Alder body after over 40 years of poor refinishing, even the fretboard had been varnished over!
Myself and Mrs Fretbuzz have painstakingly stripped the coats of paint off to reveal a very nice Alder body, sand, sand and when you think you're done sanding, sand again! Finished off with a light stain and wax.
After removing the wood varnish from the fretboard and restoring the amazing Rosewood, I have used Stainless Steel fretwork and fully levelled, crowned and dressed the frets for superior playability.
The neck pickup had no output, I managed to get 3 turns back of the pickup and found the original finish wire to bring it back to life, I love keeping the original parts, the pots date from 1972 so I'm assuming a surplus of parts was available at Fender CBS back in the day.
Unfortunately the original Fender saddles have been lost along the way and I have replaced them with a new set. Low action final setup with @rotosound_uk 10-46" ⚡
