Preamp tuner repair, handcrafted bone nut + setup on this Luna Acoustic 🔥🔥🔥
The tuner didn't light up or engage. Usually when working on an acoustic preamp, the tiny fiddly and mostly irreplaceable, or sometimes epoxy sealed parts, it's easier to replace with a new. Managed to fix this one... After opening everything up, I noticed grime on the PCB and a faulty switch where the electrical contact had completely sheered off, the 2mm spring also didn't work to engage the tuner on/off position. I've used shielding tape as a contact and now have an effective working tuner.
I've Handcrafted a bone nut to replace the stock plastic one which was slightly damaged with uneven cut slots.
Full fretboard treatments, fret dress and some work to the bridge saddle, and a Setup with D'addario 12's has got this folk machine Gig ready again ✌️
