Refret with Stainless Steel fretwire on this Gibson G-45✌️
This was possibly a B-stock guitar, I find it hard to believe Gibson themselves would let this leave the factory with some of the worst fretwork I've ever seen and a nut that was absolutely useless.
The previous frets were vintage spec small and were unseated and poorly cut leading to a horrible playability. The saddle is the right radius for the board but didn't sit flat and needed a 0.8mm shim. I've radiused the board and fretted with HOSCO medium tall Stainless Steel Frets, The tone of the stainless steel really lends to a full bodied percussive sound when played with enough attack and can do the gentle stuff too, with the addition of my handcrafted nut its quite unbelievable, I'm here if Gibson need a new tech 😬🙋♂️
Just enough relief at around 0.15 with 11's and she's ringing out ready to Bob Dylan ⚡
